In July of 2007 I was recruited by USAA in San Antonio, Texas, as a contract designer during the closing months of a massive web redesign campaign. Six months into my contract USAA made a full-timer out of me and I joined a small team of UI Designers responsible for the core applications of usaa.com, like My Accounts, Web Billpay, and Account Summary pages. My primary responsibility was to engineer the UI of mobile.usaa.com. Read More
Skibo's Tattoo has been tattooing and piercing the front range area of Wyoming and Colorado since 1982. Today, the company operates out of two locations in Wyoming and Colorado, employing many talented tattoo artists and body piercers. I have been a friend and patron of the shop for years, so I was thrilled to take them on as a client. Their previous web site just wasn't cutting it: client-side pull was way too high, and updates were a nightmare. Read More
This site was built for the Arc Attacks, a sci-fi, steam punk influenced four man crew from Austin, Texas, during Knowbility's AIR-Interactive competition at SXSW. I was a member of the USAA team for this contest, as well as the previous AIR Rally in San Antonio in November, 2007. Read More
This was a class project covering the full spectrum of brand collateral and creative direction for a high profile client. The assignment called for a complete marketing and signage campaign for a new exhibit at the Smithsonian Institute's National Air and Space Museum. Read More
Unity Blueprint is a collective initiative by many groups around the nation aimed at advocating progressive immigration reform. I joined this project as a hired gun for IME-Tech, a then LA-based IT firm that was contracted by the group to maintain Unity Blueprint's IT infrastructure and produce new sites as needed. The goal of this site was to serve as a hub of information as legal documents became available. Visitors and businesses could also join the initiative roster and grab action-kits to promote awareness in their own areas. Read More
MediaFire Studios was an interactive multimedia studio providing a wide array of world-class creative services and skills, while focusing on developing and maintaining strong long-term working relationships with clients and customers. Sounds about right, eh? This was actually a final project for an E-Commerce class. Read More
Black Heart Booking is an independent booking and promotion agency in Lincoln (formerly based out of Kearney), Nebraska. I was immediately blown away by the potential of this company. BHB was booking Gym Class Heroes in hotel bars in Nebraska years before you ever heard of 'em. They also had a great following of fans and supporters in and around the community. Read More
Team SAI is a quickly growing airline consulting firm based out of Lakewood, Colorado. The intention of this project was to send out a quick, cheerful "Happy Holidays" message that would leave a lasting impression on the firm's core clientele. This was the second holiday e-card I created for Team SAI, and we wanted to build on the success of the previous year's project. Once again, my boundaries were wide open, so long as the final product was cheerful, light hearted, and entertaining. Read More
Burn to the Ocean 2.0 was the second phase of Burn to the Ocean, a massive concept-in-action life project I initiated in the spring of 2005. Phase 2 paved the way for the project to become a musical entity by forging an online presence that would serve as the launch pad for later iterations. I know it's disappointingly typical, but I got busy with "life" and ended up shelving the project until the summer of 2008. Read More
